DER GROSSE BEFEHL - VICTORY IN THE WEST IN 100 PHOTOS - DER GROSSE BEFEHL - VICTORY IN THE WEST IN 100 PHOTOS WWII German propaganda book, first edition of 'Der Grosse Befehl - Der Sieg Im Westen In 100 Bilddokumenten' (The Great Order - The Victory in the West in 100 Photographs) published by the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (High Command of the German Armed Forces or OKW) Zeitgeschichte-Verlag, Berlin, 1941. A photo portfolio in the style of Heinrich Hoffmann, Hitler's personal photographer, with over 100 full- and half-page photos of the battle and victory of the Wehrmacht in Holland, Belgium, and France in 1940. The photographs were taken by PK-men (Propaganda Kompanie - war photographers) and include photographs of the Luftwaffe airplanes over Holland, Fallschirmjaeger jumping over Belgium, Nazi tanks crossing the Belgian border, the famous Nazi paratroopers at Eben Emael, casualties and POWs, the Nazi swastika flag over a World War I battlefield in Belgium, and the victory parade in Paris. The book contains copies of several Adolf Hitler quotes and battle orders, and all photos have a short caption. With original dust jacket, minor wear cover and on the edges in the rear, else very good, 7.5 x 10.5 inches, 96 pages.
