REINHARD HARDEGEN SIGNED BOOK - REINHARD HARDEGEN SIGNED BOOK (1913 - 2018) German U-boat commander during World War II, he was the 24th-most-successful German submarine commander of the war, credited with the sinking of 115,656 gross register tons, 22 ships. During the last few days of the war Hardegen served on Donitz's staff in Flensburg, where he was arrested by British troops. His book 'Auf Gefechtsstationen1' signed with a quote in blue ink on the half-title page 'We learn from history and then decide for ourselves...Reinhard Hardegen Kov. Kapt. a.D. Kdr. 'U147' and U123' 10-11-84'. The book is also signed by an unidentified crewmember of the U123: 'This boat U123, commandeered by the successful Kptltnt. Hardegen, was my home for four years.'
