CRUISE LINE MENU 1936 BERLIN OLYMPIC GAMES - LUDWIG HOHLWEIN
Original 1936 Olympic Games, Berlin and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, cruise line dinner menu for the S.S. Europa, Tuesday, April 28, 1936, tourist class, for the 'Norddeutscher Lloyd Bremen' cruise line, in German and English, 4 pages, 6.125 x 10 in. The iconic cover illustration of the athletes was created by famed German poster artists Ludwig Hohlwein; Hohlwein created the most dramatic examples of National Socialist realism. After the war, the United States claimed the ship as a war prize and gave the vessel to the US Navy. She was scrapped at La Spezia, Italy, in 1963. Very good.
