WWI GERMAN 1916 SPIGOT MORTAR SHELL - Dug WWI German 1916 spigot mortar shell, recovered near the the city of Ypres, Belgium. The shell is approximately 5.25 in. long and 2.25 in. in diameter. There are no visible threads on either opening. Fragmentation segments are still clearly defined. Most likely used with the Granatwerfer 16. Surface rust, else very good.
