European Neolithic Idol- Mother Goddess, carved stone 5000 BC – 1000 BC; Beautiful Neolithic primitive carved sculpture of the human female with small breasts, robust torso, thin arms and short legs. The head is round with a prominent nose. The statue is small and could be carried by ancient people, in the long journeys, for the purpose of worship. Height: 11.6 cm; Width: 5.3 cm; Weight: 201 g; Moh’s hardness: 7.0-8.0; (harder than marble or jade); Condition: natural erosion of the softer veins. Provenance: private collection in Italy
