Japanese antique sword made by Sukesan, province Okiyama, ca 1500 AD - Japanese antique sword made by Sukesan, province Okiyama, ca 1500 AD Wakizashi Blade, unsigned, but with early 20th c. tag that reads ”Sword Smith's Name: Sukesan, 450 years old, Province Okiyama”, with iron tsuba, later black lacquered scabbard having a leather belt, retaining wrapped shagreen grip with menuki, missing kashira (pommel), Length of the blade: 22” = 55.9 cm; blade with nice hamon landscape, Length of the sword: 34 1/2” = 87.6 cm overall. Condition: Some nicks to blade edge, scabbard loss. Provenance: private collection in Thomaston, Maine, USA
