Telescopic Spring Cosh Police & Military Baton - Vintage circa 1930s-1940s telescopic spring cosh baton of a type historically associated with police, security personnel, and WWII military special operations. Features a cylindrical steel handle with a dark metal finish, extending coiled steel spring shaft, and rounded black striking tip. The compact design allows the baton to retract into its tubular handle for concealed carrying and extend into a flexible impact instrument. Similar spring coshes were employed by British SOE and American OSS personnel during World War II, as well as European police organizations. An interesting example of early concealed law enforcement and military equipment. Measures approximately 7” collapsed and 16” extended.
