1916 Enfield SMLE Mk III* .303 Rifle - Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield Short Magazine Lee-Enfield Mk III* bolt-action rifle, manufactured in 1916 and chambered in .303 British. Serial number L945. Measures 25 inches at the barrel and 44 inches overall, with a detachable 10-round box magazine. High-gloss wood sporting stock, military-pattern tangent rear sight, protected front sight, and Weaver Marksman 3-9x scope mounted in Weaver rings. CONDITION: Sporterized from military configuration, with shortened fore-end, removed handguards, and receiver drilled and tapped for the scope mount. Handling and carry wear throughout, including finish loss and scattered oxidation or patina on the metal, scratches and dents to the wood, and multiple metal-stapled repairs along crack lines in the buttstock. Scope body shows surface wear. Bore shows some brightness with light patina; rifling remains strong. Action is tight.
