German Durkopp Bayonet - German Durkopp S84/98 III bayonet for the Karabiner 98k, manufactured in 1938. Features a blued fullered blade, black diagonally grooved phenolic grip scales, steel guard, and bird's-head pommel. Blade serial 3210 with c suffix. The accompanying steel scabbard is marked P. Weyersberg 1939 and numbered 5749. Blade measures 9 3/4 inches; overall length in scabbard is 16 inches. CONDITION: Blade shows scattered oxidation, pitting, scratches, edge wear, and finish loss, heavier toward the point. Hilt and scabbard exhibit widespread oxidation, surface wear, and finish loss. Scabbard number 5749 does not match bayonet serial 3210. Yellow surface residue is present on the guard.
