Mixed U.S. and Naval Event Covers, 1930s–1980s - Mixed group of commemorative and event covers spanning the 1930s through the 1980s. Items include commercial advertising covers such as Hotel Patten (Chattanooga, TN), Rice Hotel (Houston, TX), and Sun Valley Chamber of Commerce (CA). Also present are commemorative covers for the first trip of the S.S. Queen Mary (1936), a Long Island Tercentenary cover (1936), and convention-related material including a 1948 Los Angeles cover for the 27th Annual Convention of the United States Stamp Society. Several U.S. Navy submarine covers are included, featuring keel layings and launchings for USS Albuquerque (SSN-706), USS Buffalo (SSN-715), USS Parche (SSN-683), USS Boston (SSN-703), and USS SSN-718.
