The cards appearing in the album were distributed in the cigarette packs of the "Bilderienst" company. Among the characters appearing: the prodigy Shirley Temple, Laurel and Hardy ('The Fat and the Thin'), Marilyn Dietrich, Lillian Harvey, the German film director and photographer Leni Riefenstahl, best known for the propaganda documentaries she created for the Nazi Party, and many others. The cards all feature the movie stars themselves in black and white, and the frame is in color, with each card having a special gold frame and a different design.
