A large and impressive Hebrew advertisement poster for Richard Lester's film "Superman II" which appeared in Israel. The film was produced as a sequel to "Superman" which was released in 1978. Superman II, directed by Richard Lester, was released as a sequel to "Superman" which premiered in 1978. The film stars Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor, Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent / Superman, Margo Kedar as Lewis Lane, Terence Stamp as General Zud., Ned Beatty, Sarah Douglas, and Jack O'Hloran. It was the only Superman film shot by two directors. Therefore, many of the scenes that were supposed to appear in the film were cut and later added in the remake made to the film, "Superman 2: The Version of Richard Donner". The original movie "Superman 2" was released in Australia and Europe on December 4, 1980 and in some countries was released a year later. Upon its release, the film received very positive reviews from film critics who praised the effects, plot and acting. In 2006 came out a version of Richard Donner, which recreated many of the scenes he shot, which were not included in the original film version.
