"Dachlil." Children's newspaper. The first Hebrew comics - First issue
"Dachlil." a weekly for a child [appears every Thursday], the first Hebrew comic. edited by Emanuel Olsbanger. Jerusalem, June 6, 1940, Issue No. 1. [A total of four issues were printed].
After a one-time unsuccessful attempt to publish a children's newspaper called "Ach Sameah" [only two issues were published], the entertainment weekly before us appeared in Jerusalem - "Dachlil" which soon captured the hearts of Hebrew children. The goal was to "expand our society into a large society that includes all the children of the country" as the editor said at the beginning of the issue. In Dachlil appeared for the first time cartoon dependence, amusing dialogues of the "scarecrows" Sha and Ga, a comic book-style sequel called "The Journeys of Gad and Yossi" and adventure stories in sequels about Ruth and Yael the detectives. Similarly, dialogues in the form of "balloons" appeared in the mouths of the characters, along with captions printed under the illustrations.
