Stromberg-Carlson Candlestick Telephone - This classic early 20th-century candlestick telephone, manufactured by the Stromberg-Carlson Telephone Mfg. Co. of Rochester, New York, exemplifies turn-of-the-century American telecommunications design. Constructed with a dark enamel-finished shaft and base, nickel-plated transmitter back, and hard rubber receiver shell, it displays manufacturer markings on the transmitter casing, receiver cap, and base rim. The phone presents in good vintage condition showing light surface wear, minor finish loss to the shaft, and age-appropriate patina on the metal components. The cloth-covered wiring exhibits fraying in several spots, though it retains its original metal spade lead clips, and the felt bottom lining shows minor wear without major damage.
