Bidspirit auction | RARE Hammond and CO. Buckskin

RARE Hammond and CO. Buckskin Riding Breeches - This super rare pair of Hammond and CO. riding breeches are made of the softest, supple, white buckskin hide leather. There are 6 buttons, 4 in front and 2 in back, that bear the name ”Hammond and Company- Oxford Street.” This iconic establishment was a famous British tailoring firm, originally established in 1776. (does that ring a bell?) Located at 465 Oxford street, London. They also had shops in Paris and Brussels. These incredible white riding pants would have been worn primarily for formal equestrian activities like a fox hunt. These breeches have a metal buckle back waist. The buckle says ”Paris”. Every button is still present. The small buttons at the tapered bottom, that fit inside your tall riding boots, seem to be mother of pearl. Approximately 34 inch waist. Front side is very clean but the back side, where the pants hit the saddle, is slightly dirty.
