”Wings of Beauty” Cosmetic Case - Here is a true piece of Women in Aviation history. Picture this: It's 1937, Amelia Earhart just went missing. Women are passengers on airplanes, becoming air hostesses, women are flying planes!! The flying speed record breaker, Jacqueline Cochran opens a cosmetic line with exquisite salons in Chicago, Lake Forest, inside the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, with a factory in New Jersey. The line is aimed at ”todays” active, modern woman and the need for special skincare at high altitude. THis makes it possible for women to be both professional in the air and beautiful on the ground. The faux green lizard skin case is in very good condition. It contains 2 glass bottles with ”Wings to Beauty” on them and a small airplane logo. Along with the bottles, is a plastic, stackable, 3 compartment container. One lid is chipped. The top container has unopened face powder. The remaining 2 compartments, cleaning cream and a night cream are almost gone. A small, 2 sided mirror is included.
