4 Outerwear Capelets - Approximately from about 1870, a few years after the Civil War, these capelets were high fashion. First a black velvet quilted capelet with fringe. This one has some damage to the lining and some of the decorative lace needs to be reattached. Next, the green velvet ruffle capelet is very ornate but the silk lining is in bad shape. Also, a black wool and lace capelet with a wide band of jet beads and a high lace collar. This one is lined with 2 way taffeta in blue and purple in great shape. Last, a black silk and lace capelet in bad condition at the shoulders where the hanger has poked through.
