Exterior Poster Cases Colfax Theater So. Bend IN - Sourced directly from the iconic Colfax Theatre in South Bend, Indiana—a grand movie palace designed by the famed architectural firm Rapp & Rapp that opened on August 4, 1928, as one of the nation's earliest venues built specifically for sound films—this historic pair of Classical Revival exterior theater poster display cases features imposing pediment crests, detailed egg-and-dart gilt inner trim, sculpted floral capitals, and an original aged green-painted finish over carved wood and composition frame construction. Removed during an early remodel and preserved indoors, both clear glazed glass panels remain fully intact; however, the wooden frames exhibit noticeable age-related structural wear, wood loss, paint flaking and chipping, corner separation, and require stabilization and re-gluing, particularly to the detached crest pediment.
