WWII German Cross (Deutches Kreuz) in Case - WWII German Military Decoration German Cross (Deutches Kreuz) in case. Very good condition. Instituted on 28Sep1941. Awarded to military personnel for repeated acts of exceptional bravery or successful combat leadership. Ranked between the Iron Cross 1st Class and the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross. Markings on back indicate it was produced by C.F. Zimmermann of Pforzhelm. The mark 20 on the pin is the official Presidential Chancellery delivery code assigned to the manufacturer. On the front at the 11 o’clock position in the dark starburst rays just above and to the left of the upper arm of the swastika is an indentation / structural die flaw which developed over time on the Zimmerman dies as they deteriorated from use.
