Bidspirit auction | WWII German 10x80 Flak Binoculars

WWII German 10x80 Flak Binoculars on Tripod - WWII-era German military 10x80 Flakfernrohr 45-degree anti-aircraft observation binocular assembly mounted on its original, heavy-duty adjustable field tripod. Originally manufactured by Emil Busch A.-G. (maker code ”cxn”) and other optics contractors for the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe, this set features German military elevation and azimuth scales along the mounting housing and eyepiece controls marked ”mittel” for optic filter adjustments. Constructed of heavy cast aluminum, steel, and brass with rubber eye pads, the optic head separates from the tripod mounting point. Condition shows heavy surface wear, extensive paint flaking, scattered oxidation, and loss to the original ordnance tan/grey finish throughout the body and tripod legs. The heavy glass lenses and eyepieces are intact and complete but likely require internal cleaning, while the azimuth horizontal swivel functions; the vertical tilt mechanism is currently frozen and requires mechanical servicing to free up movement. Measures approx. H 54”, W 32”, D 32”. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available Post-Auction.
