WWII German Style Peaked Visor Cap (Schirmmutze) - WWII German style peaked visor cap (Schirmmutze)The upper insignia is the national emblem eagle clutching a swastika with a Totenkopf (skull and crossbones) on the black band. Pink piping (Waffenfarbe) indicates the Panzer (armored / tank) division. The chin cord has silver twisted cord straps which traditionally denote an officer’s rank. The celluloid diamond in the cap lists the tailor as J.B. Holzinger / Uniformen / Berchtesgaden with their patented Frischluft (Fresh Air) Ventilation System with a (D/R/G/M/ (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster) Registration Mark. The name reads Hauptsturmfuhrer (Captain). There are metal monogram initials AK in the sweatband. 8” front to back, 8.5” wide, 6” deep. Please see photos.
