WWII German Sudetenland & 4-Year SS Medals - 1. WWII German Sudetenland Medal (Die Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938). Good condition. Part of the “Occupation Medals” series commissioned during the Third Reich to commemorate territorial expansions. Instituted 18Oct1938 by Adolf Hitler following the Munich agreement, awarded to German military and state personnel and Sudetenland Nazi supporters who actively participated in or facilitated the peaceful annexation and occupation of the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia on 01Oct1938, 1.1 million of these medals were struck and awarded through Dec1940. The rim on the back has the Third Reich political slogan EIN VOLK * EIN REICH * EIN FUHRER (One People, One Empire, One Leader), with each * noted above being a small swastika. 3.5” long, medal 1.25” wide, ribbon 1.5” wide. 2. WWII German SS 4-Year Long Service Medal (SS-Dienstauszeidhnung 4. Stufe). Good condition. Introduced by Adolf Hitler 30Jan1938 and awarded strictly to enlisted personnel and non-commissioned officers who completed 4 years of active honorable service in branches like the SS-Verfugungstruppen or SS-Totenkopfverbanden. There is a “4” on the back overlapping the German phrase FUR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS (For Loyal Service in the SS). 3.5” long, 1.5” wide. Please see photos.
