WWII German Wound Badge - WWII German Wound Badge. Good condition. Awarded to soldiers who were injured or suffered frostbite while serving in the armed forces. The swastika identifies this as the 1939 pattern reinstated by Adolf Hitler at the outbreak of WWII to distinguish it from the WWI design which lacked political insignia. The number 30 (the official Presidential Chancellery delivery code for the manufacturer) stamped on the back indicates this was manufactured by Hauptmunzamt Wien (the Principal Mint of Vienna Austria). 1.75” long, 1.5” wide.
