German Medals Kaiser Wilhelm I, Shooting - 1. German Imperial Medal Commemorating the Centenary Celebration in Nurnberg (Centenarfeier Nurnberg). Good condition. Issued to mark 22March1897 which was the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kaiser Wilhelm I. The ribbon colors reflect the classic heraldic state colors of Prussia. 4” long, 1.5” wide, 1.25” diameter. 2. German Empire Shooting Medal (Schutzenmedaille) from 08-15July1900. Good condition. Issued to commemorate a local shooting festival. The red, white, and black ribbon colors represent the national colors of the German Empire (Deutsches Reich) from 1871-1918. During this era target shooting clubs (Sdchutzenvereine)held regional and national festivals. Based on the text on the back this medal is for the 13th German Federal Shooting Festival (XIII Deutsches Bundesschieben) a national festival held in different host cities about every 3 years, this one was held in Dresden. 4.5” long, 1.5” wide, 1.25” diameter.
