WWII German General Assault Badge - WWII German General Assault Badge. Good condition. Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen. Instituted 01June1940 by Generaloberst Walther von Brauchitsch to support personnel such as combat engineers, artillery, anti-tank, and medical units who participated in 3 distinct infantry or armored assaults on 3 different days but did not qualify for the standard Infantry or Panzer Assault Badges. Based on back of badge it was manufactured by Rudolf Souval of Vienna. The back shows a scooped out / semi hollow zinc construction typical of mid to late manufacturing profiles. The clasp hook circular retaining catch bracket is referred to as the Souval Claw. 2.25” long, 1.75” wide. Please see photos.
