4 Army Civil War Medals 6 Medal Bars - 1. 4-United States Army Civil War Campaign Medal(s). Good condition. Originally authorized in 1905 to mark the 40th anniversary of the war's conclusion, it serves as the 1st official campaign service medal issued by the US military. Front has WITH MALICE TOWARD NONE WITH CHARITY FOR ALL. The back has THE CIVIL WAR 1861-1865. The medal was awarded to members of the US military who served in the American Civil War 15April1861-09April1865. Because Congress initially refused to appropriate funds for the military campaign medals due to the expense it was officially issued as a badge for several decades. The funding required to formally strike and distribute the decoration as a government medal was finally passed by Congress in 1956. Early original issues often featured a trace number stamped directly onto the outer rim edge. The back indicates this is the Army version of the medal. National Defense Service Medal awarded for serving honorably during designated periods of war or national emergency. Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. Unit Unit Citation bestowed upon Sir Force commands that distinguish themselves through exceptionally meritorious service. 3.5” long, 0.5” wide. 0.25” tall. 3. 2 US Army Good Conduct Medal (AGCM) service ribbon bars. Good condition, one without clips. Established during WWII 28June1941, awarded to enlisted US Army personnel who demonstrate exemplary conduct, efficiency, and fidelity over a specified period. Requires 3 consecutive years of honorable and faithful active service or 1 years during a period of war. One has Medals of America (has clips) on the back and the other (no clips) has G27 on the back. Medals of America was established in 1976. The clips are called dammit clutches. The G27 is an official hallmark certified by the US Army Institute of Heraldry. The manufacturer is Graco Awards or Graco Industries in Tomball Texas.1.5” long, 0.5” wide, 0.5” tall each. 4. Awarded to members of the US Armed Forces who served at least 30 consecutive days (or 60 non-consecutive) within the Asiatic-Pacific Theater 07Dec1941-02March1946. Established by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Executive Order 9265 in 1942. The 1st official full sized medal recipient was General Douglas MacArthur.
