French, Visor Badge, Irish, Toy Soldier, DUI, Duck - 1. French Military Insignia Badge for the Centre d'Instruction des Chars de Combat (CICC) which translates to the Combat Tank Training Center. Good condition. Used by French armored division schools and training units during the 1930s up through WWII (1939-1940). The upper right side of the back is stamped ARTHUS BERTRAND, founded in Paris in 1803. The upper left on the back reads PARIS DEPOSE for a registered or patented design. 1.25” long, 1” wide. 2. WWII US Army Officer Visor Cap Badge Insignia, Good condition. Features the Great Seal of the US. Worn exclusively on the front of officers' service visors and crushed combination caps across the US Army and US Army Air Forces (USAAF) during WWII. 1.5” long, 1.25” wide. 3. British Army Officer Rank Insignia ”Pip” Star. Good condition. Belongs to the Irish Guards regiment. 1” diameter. 4. WWII Metal Stand-Up Toy Soldier. Good condition. These figures were typically part of 1940s boxed board games such as Bomber Raid by Fairchild or sold as economical punch-out / die-cut play sets. Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI) for the 1st Armored Division of the US Army nicknamed Old Ironsides the 1st Armored established its reputation during WWII. Good condition. Markings on the back indicated the manufacturer is N.S. Meyer Inc. of New York. 1.25” long, 1.25” wide. 6. US Army 2nd Armored Division Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI) Lapel Pin, nicknamed Hell On Wheels. Good condition. Involved in the Invasion of Normandy and the Gulf War before being inactivated in 1995. 1” long, 1” wide. 7. WWII US Honorable Service Discharge Emblem, nicknamed the ”Ruptured Duck”. Good condition. Issued Nov1944, sewn horizontally over the right breast pocket of a service member's uniform to prove the wearer has been honorable discharged from the military and was not AWOL. Troops thought the eagle's silhouette looked awkward and joked that it looked like a ruptured duck. This color combination was used for US Navy and the US Coast Guard while the Army used olive drab or khaki backings. 1.5” long, 3” wide. 8. WWII US Coast Guard (USCG) Officer or Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Wire Bullion Sleeve Shield Insignia Patch. Good condition. Worn above the cuff stripes or rating badges on dress blue uniforms. Based on the dimensions this is an officer sized sleeve insignia worn by Commissioned Officers or Warrant Officers. 1.75” long, 1.25”wide. Please see photos.
