Good condition. Issued to members of the US Armed Forces who were honorably discharged during WWII 1925-1946. Returning veterans were allowed to wear their military uniforms for 30 days after returning home and the Ruptured Duck” showed they were legally discharged and not AWOL. 3” long, 1.5” wide. 5. US Third Air Force (part of the US Army Air Forces) military insignia shoulder patch. Good condition. Activated in late 1940 the Third Air Force operated primarily out of the southeastern US during WWII. Core responsibilities included training bomber, fighter, and reconnaissance crews for overseas deployment, and conducting antisubmarine patrols along the American coast, Back has the ”Snowback” / ”Whiteback” pattern characteristic of American embroidery manufacturing during the 1940s caused by the white cotton bobbin thread locking the colored front threads into place.
