This is an exceptional example of a WWII-era U.S. Army Air Corps training relic, specifically the M38A2 100-pound practice bomb. Dated ”12 - '44,” this casing was manufactured by Jones & Laughlin Steel (Lot JSP-131) during the peak of the Allied air campaign. These inert units were essential for training bombardiers, often filled with sand to match the ballistics of live ordnance. It features the correct light blue finish—the universal military color code for ”practice”—and retains remarkably clear white stenciled nomenclature. The piece is complete with its characteristic rounded nose and four-vane tail assembly. Its condition is objectively good for military surplus, exhibiting honest age-related oxidation, surface rust, and paint scuffs that verify its authentic provenance and storage history.
