WWII USMC Hospital Corps Bolo Knife Boyt 44 Scab. - This authentic World War II U.S. Marine Corps Hospital Corps bolo knife was manufactured by Chatillon of New York and is housed in its original heavy leather scabbard marked ”USMC BOYT 44”. Issued to Marine Corps medical personnel and corpsmen during Pacific theater operations, this formidable military edged weapon features a thick steel blade with deep ”U.S.M.C. CHATILLON N.Y.” stampings, smooth wooden grip scales secured by brass rivets, and a sturdy riveted leather sheath with brass wire belt attachment hardware. The steel blade remains remarkably clean and free of deep pitting, showing light surface scuffs and typical honest runner marks, while the hardwood handle exhibits light handling patina. The accompanying leather scabbard demonstrates light surface scuffing and minor verdigris around the brass rivets, though the leather remains strong, supple, and structurally sound with intact stitching.
