Bidspirit auction | Pair WWII Hungarian Royal Army

Pair WWII Hungarian Royal Army Side Caps - This lot features two World War II-era Hungarian Royal Army overseas/side caps (Bocskai caps), including one in field green fabric and one in khaki twill cloth. Both caps feature front cockades with the Hungarian tri-color emblem, brass front closure buttons with national insignia, and braided rank chevrons sewn over colored branch felt backings to the side panels. The braided gold/bullion chevrons sewn onto the side panels indicate NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer) rank: the green cap (top/red backing) features three silver/grey braided chevrons set against a red cloth backing, indicating an NCO (such as a Szakaszvezeto or Ormester) in the Infantry branch (red branch color/Waffenfarbe), while the khaki cap (bottom/green backing) features three gold bullion chevrons set over a green felt backing with a red border, indicating an NCO in the Border Guard or Rifle/Jäger branch. The interior of the green cap features a stitched maker label reading ”GYÁRI VÉDJEGY RÉKA”, while the tan cap bears an interior stamped marking reading ”KISS SÁNDOR KASSA” along with an intact sweatband. Both pieces exhibit light age-appropriate wear, including minor fraying to thread detailing, surface soil on the linings, and light oxidation on metallic threads and buttons, but remain in overall very good vintage condition. Measures H 4.5”, W 10.5”, D 4.5”. Please see photos for condition.
