WWI German Gas Mask Canister & Trench Art - This historic set features an authentic World War I German metal carrying canister alongside two period 37mm brass artillery shell casings transformed into trench art. The canister retains its dark metal finish, hinged compartment lid, and web strap attachment, while the two French 37mm casings showcase hand-engraved period inscriptions including ”VERDUN”, ”1918”, and commemorative artwork, with base headstamps bearing clear ”PDPs 37-85” ordnance markings. Items exhibit expected age-appropriate wear, including surface oxidation, paint loss, edge denting on the canister lid, and typical brass patina, with all hand-engraved details remaining clear and intact.
