WWII Parris-Dunn US Navy Trainer Rifle - WWII Parris-Dunn US Navy Trainer Rifle-NON FIRING, an authentic WWII-era ”Victory” training rifle manufactured by the Parris-Dunn Corp. of Clarinda, Iowa. Specifically designed for the US Navy, these non-firing replicas were commissioned early in the war to facilitate manual of arms and bayonet drills when functional service rifles were prioritized for combat zones. This specimen is a true ”workhorse” of the era, featuring a functional bolt-action simulation and a distinct ”L” over ”30” inventory stamping on the wrist of the stock, typical of Navy rack assignments. The metal buttplate retains its original manufacturer's marks, identifying it as a government-contract piece. The rifle displays an honest, heavy patina consistent with rigorous military drill; the metal components show significant pitting and surface oxidation, while the wooden stock features a darkened, oil-rubbed finish with numerous scuffs and indentations from historical use.
