Argentine M1891 Bayonet & Scabbard Matching #'s - This Argentine Model 1891 Mauser bayonet was produced in Solingen, Germany, by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. for export to Argentina. It features a steel recurved crossguard, ribbed aluminum grips, and a single-edged fullered steel blade. Per standard Argentine military surplus export protocols, the national crest on the ricasso has been ground off. The marking ”MODELO ARGENTINO 1891” and matching serial numbers ”P8697” are clearly stamped on both the ricasso and the steel scabbard mouth. The pommel exhibits an oval ”RA” proof stamp. Metal surfaces demonstrate scattered surface oxidation, light tarnish, and age-consistent patina, while the steel scabbard retains much of its original finish with minor scuffing.
