Ku Klux Klan (KKK) Belt Buckle - Ku Klux Klan (KKK) Belt Buckle. Good condition. Minted by Daniel Low & Co. of Salem Massachusetts. Front of buckle features a detailed relief carved propaganda scene depicting hooded Klansmen on horseback riding forward in a group, 1 central rider holding a Bible, another rider nearby hoisting the American flag, side riders holding vertical banners inscribed with Americanism and Constitution, and a burning cross in the background on the far right. This was produced as historical organization memorabilia. There is an inscription on the back ”Imperial Order of the Ku Klux Klan / Designed by Rev. Branford Clark” a real world minister and illustrator who created political artwork during the 1920s. The logo stamped in the middle displays a witch on a broomstick alongside the text ”Daniel Low & Co. / Salem Mass. / Witch”. Daniel Low & Co. trademarked the Salem Witch logo in 1890 for their souvenir spoons; however, they did not manufacture buckles or partner with Branford Clarke. 3.25” long, 3” wide. Please see photos.
