Stella Grand Music Box & Matching Disc Cabinet - The Stella Grand 15.5” disc music box was manufactured circa 1900 in Switzerland by the renowned watch and music box maker Mermod Frères Sainte-Croix. The case on this music box is a deluxe solid mahogany with a raised lid in VG original finish. The lid features a gold decal on the reverse inset panel reading ”The Grand”. The mechanism has a premium double-comb movement and an improved ”short block” bedplate design, which yields a remarkably rich, warm, and mandolin-like tone. The comb has no broken, chipped, or repaired teeth. It winds with its original crank and plays and stops properly. It comes with a matching original finish mahogany base cabinet with vertical slot storage for discs. 16 discs are included. The cabinet is missing the brass door pull and has finish damage and a small piece of wood missing on the rear legs. Locks are present on the music box and cabinet but no keys are included. The music box measures 27” wide, 21” deep, 12.5” tall. The matching base cabinet measures 31” wide, 24” deep, 30”tall. From the Trenga collection. No shipping on this item.
