Bidspirit auction | Empress Electric Coin Op Piano

Empress Electric Coin Op Piano Nickelodeon - The Empress Electric was a premium line of coin-operated nickelodeon player pianos marketed by Chicago-based music house, Lyon & Healy. Lyon & Healy did not actually manufacture the internal player components for their automatic coin-op line. Instead, ”Empress Electric” served as a house brand. The company used its own ”Washburn” brand piano cabinets and partnered with the Operators Piano Company (the makers of Coinola) to supply and install the internal pneumatic player mechanisms and instrumentation. This unit has a piano with mandolin rail, xylophone, bass drum, tambourine, triangle, and block. It uses ”Style O” music rolls. The original finish oak cabinet is in overall good condition with some veneer chipping. The front upper panel features a leaded art glass scenic landscape in VG original condition with no cracks or missing pieces. The bottom panel is missing that covers the instruments and mechanism. It accepts coins (5c) and plays well. Piano needs a tuning. Measures 64” wide, 30” deep, 56” tall on wheels. From the Trenga collection. No shipping on this item. Customer pickup or 3rd party transporter only.
