Zon-O-Phone Concert Grand Disc Phonograph - The Zon-O-Phone Concert Grand is a rare and highly prized antique disc phonograph produced by the Universal Talking Machine Company during the golden era of early acoustic sound reproduction. Originally introduced around 1900 to 1902, the Concert Grand represents a transitional bridge between Zon-O-Phone's compact Model A and the top-tier Grand Opera machine. It was built during a period of intense legal and commercial competition with Emile Berliner's gramophones and before Eldridge Johnson’s Victor Talking Machine Company bought out and eventually phased out the Zon-O-Phone brand. This machine features a beautiful 4 side oak cabinet that has been over coated and polished out for a rich luster with a very nice 24” all brass horn with an 11” bell. The V Concert reproducer has been rebuilt. VG finish bedplate, and horn support. The horn rest as well as the crank has been re plated. Replaced felt on the turntable. Machine winds and runs well. Cabinet measures 15” wide, 12” deep, 9” tall. From the William Kocher collection.
