Bidspirit auction | Zon-O-Phone Model D Disc Phonograph
Zon-O-Phone Model D Disc Phonograph - The circa 1901 Zon-O-Phone D was the entry-level model in the early Zon-O-Phone family and retailed for just $12, making it the least expensive model available from the manufacturer at the time. This example features a very plain solid oak cabinet with minimal decoration with an original finish that has been overcoated. It has the early production humpback cast-iron bedplate. The plating on all the parts is VG and has a V Concert reproducer. The 7”turntable felt is original. The plated horn cradle is a replacement. Machine winds and runs. It comes with an original 16.5” black steel horn with an 8” bell with original paint and gold stripe and a replacement thumbscrew on the connector. All in all a very nice machine. Measures 8” wide, 9” deep,6” tall. From the William Kocher collection.
