Victor Type C Disc Phonograph w/Horn - The Victor Type C was introduced in the fall of 1901 by Eldridge R. Johnson, the founder of the Victor Talking Machine Company and was the ”top-of-the-line” machine at the time of its debut. This machine is all original with the exception of the leather horn elbow and the screw that holds the reproducer to the travel arm. The original Johnson standard reproducer is missing the needle thumb screw. Original finish on the oak case is good. Brass Victor I.D. tag stamped C6329. 7” turntable has original felt and screw on record hold down. The plating on the parts is well worn. Original slotted crank. Motor winds and runs. Brake is missing the leather stop. Horn is 14” black steel with 9.5” diameter brass bell. Horn body has been repainted. Overall a very nice example of a pre dog machine. Case measures 10” wide, 10.5” deep, 6.5” tall. From the Sanfilippo collection.
