Bidspirit auction | Ogden-Ola Floor Phonograph (c.1918–1923) W/Crank

Ogden-Ola Floor Phonograph (c.1918–1923) W/Crank - An exceptional piece of early 20th-century audio history, this Ogden-Ola upright floor model phonograph was produced between 1918 and 1923 by the Ogden Phonograph Company, operating out of 1977 Ogden Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. During the post-World War I ”phonograph boom,” independent Chicago assembly firms flourished by offering hand-cranked disc players as accessible alternatives to major brands like Victor and Edison. This model features a dark mahogany-finished wooden cabinet housing an internal acoustic horn behind the upper doors and dedicated record storage slots below. The hand-cranked player retains its crisp original ”Ogden-Ola” manufacturer decal under the lid, original tonearm setup, intact speed regulator, and turntable motor deck complete with built-in needle cups. The unit remains in smooth working condition. The cabinet exhibits typical light surface scratches, scuffs, and minor finish wear consistent with age and use, but retains a strong original finish and clean structural integrity throughout. Dimensions: 49” H x 22” W x 22” D. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available Post-Auction.
