Vintage Victrola VV 2-55 Portable Phonograph - This original Orthophonic Victrola Model VV 2-55 portable suitcase phonograph was manufactured by the Victor Talking Machine Co. in Camden, New Jersey, circa late 1920s. Encased in its signature dark green leatherette-covered cabinet, the unit features an Orthophonic sound box, S-shaped nickel-plated tone arm, internal exponential horn, hand crank, automatic brake mechanism, speed regulator, and includes a Victor 78 RPM record (”Red River Blues” by Laura Smith). Condition & Functionality: Sound quality is strong and functional, though general mechanical servicing is recommended to ensure optimal speed and smooth operation. Missing needle thumbscrew on the sound box needle chuck. Exterior shows age-appropriate cosmetic wear, including edge fraying, leatherette lifting, corner scuffs, and minor oxidation on nickel hardware. The interior wood paneling, gold Victrola decal, and mechanical components remain well-preserved. Dimensions: 6.5” H x 12.5” W x 16.5” D. Please see photos for condition.
