48 Image Frame Daguerreotypes & Ambrotypes - A custom made vintage wood frame that holds 14 quarter plate and 34 sixth plate images. The wood is a veneered which has major veneer loss on the bottom portion. The images are mounted in place with small nails to hold them in place. It looks like there are 3 - 6th plate and 2 - 1/4 plate Ambrotypes with everything else being Daguerreotypes. There is a small 10” X 6” mirror in the center. All the images are in good+ to VG condition. There are mattes from photographers such as Whitehuer, Hollman, and Root. Looking at the back it looks like most of the images have been resealed with archival tape. This frame hung in Allens dining room in Brooklyn New York. There is no information as to how it was acquired, where it came from, or whether the images are original to the frame or not. Regardless, it is a magnificent piece. It measures 31.75” wide, 33.5” tall. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
