Vintage Wax Head & Surgical Halo Set - This exceptional pairing combines a mid-century life-size department store or museum display head with a mid-to-late 20th-century stereotactic neurosurgery head frame, creating a dramatic medical history display. The lifelike bust is artfully crafted with a detailed poured wax or wax-composite exterior, realistic inset blue glass eyes, molded facial features, and a full head of embedded naturalistic hair, terminating in an inset heavy-gauge metal mounting collar. Accompanying the head is a precision-engineered surgical halo apparatus, constructed from premium surgical stainless steel and anodized aluminum components, featuring a circumferential skull band frame with adjustable stabilization pins and a mechanical target alignment armature. Physically, both items present in well-preserved vintage condition; the wax head shows expected age-related character including light surface scuffs, minor hairline crazing, subtle skin-tone discoloration, and slight matting or thinning to the hair, while the surgical halo remains structurally sound and functionally intact, showing typical signs of clinical use such as minor superficial oxidation on the tightening threads and faint water spots on the brushed metal finish.
