Antique Josef Leiter Medical Instrument Set - An exceptional late 19th to early 20th-century antique medical and surgical endoscopic instrument set crafted by renowned maker Josef Leiter of Vienna, Austria (”Josef Leiter Fabrik Chirurgischer u. Medicinischer Instrumente Wien, IX. Mariannengasse 11”). Housed in a custom fitted oak presentation case featuring a engraved brass owner's plaque reading ”DR. H.W. HOWE”, this comprehensive set includes nickel-plated brass scopes, specula, curved sound tubes, rigid probes, bulb insufflators, glass components, and woven electrical cordage. Overall condition is good antique vintage, showing light surface oxidation, tarnishing on metal components, age wear and minor flaking to the rubber bulbs, light wood split in lid, and scuffing to the wooden case consistent with age and field use; instruments remain largely intact with internal compartments.
