Antique Victor Medical Galvanic Switchboard - Emerging from a premier estate, this exceptional turn-of-the-century medical galvanic switchboard apparatus stands as a remarkable artifact from the progressive golden era of American electrotherapeutics. Expertly constructed by the acclaimed Victor Electric Co. of Chicago, the mechanism is masterfully presented on a dense, heavy slab of faux-marbled slate stone insulation. The control board features a highly complex arrangement of finely machined nickel-plated switches, dual indicator or diagnostic glass lamps (one emerald green, one ruby red), a central wire-wound induction coil, an integrated sliding contact potentiometer, and a stunning, central-aperture milliampere meter signed by the manufacturer. Encased in a massive, beautifully preserved quartersawn tiger oak cabinet with an integrated left-hinged viewing door and original heavy iron wall-mounting brackets, it bears stamped serial markings numbered 1533 where the original power leads enter the housing. From a collector's standpoint, the item presents in very fine, untouched antique condition; the stone face is beautifully clean and free of fractures, the original glass pane remains pristine, and the nickel plating exhibits a bright, authentic patina with only minor localized oxidation. The oak cabinet retains its rich, deep coloration, displaying expected light surface scuffs, shallow dings, and gentle finish wear consistent with institutional clinical placement.
