Ornate Tabletop Stereoscope Viewer W/Case & Slides - Step back into the Victorian era with this charming 19th-century tabletop stereoscope viewer. Crafted entirely of wood with elegant hand-painted floral decorations and mother-of-pearl inlay accents, this antique optical device sits upon an adjustable pedestal stand and includes a fitted wooden slide storage box housing sixteen glass stereo slides depicting pastoral scenes, architectural views including the Arc de Triomphe, and an extra frosted diffusion pane. Condition report notes light surface wear, gilt rubbing, and age-appropriate craquelure to the painted finish, with a good size chip out of the bottom right hand corner of the left viewing lens (see photo).
