19thC German Biedermeier Era Dobereiner Lighter - Exceedingly rare 19th-century German Biedermeier-era Döbereiner platinum lighter (Döbereiner-Lampe). This is an incredible milestone in chemical history invented by Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner. Crafted from beautiful clear glass featuring delicate, etched floral and geometric patterns, this piece is fitted with a heavy brass-mounted mechanical top lever mechanism and its original internal glass tube. Objectively, the lighter is in good antique condition, displaying a rich, untouched patina with heavy verdigris and oxidation on the underside of the brass lid, minor internal residue, and light surface wear to the glass, but crucially remains free of major chips, cracks, or structural damage.
