WWI Bausch & Lomb M1915 B.C. Telescope - This genuine U.S. military B.C. (Battery Commander) Telescope, Model of 1915 A1, was manufactured by the Bausch & Lomb Optical Company of Rochester, New York, in 1918. This trench periscope features a robust brass body with its original black-finished tubes and bright aluminum objective hoods, complete with their protective leather end-caps. The markings on the base indicate a ”POWER 10” magnification, serial number 5596, and the ”R.G.C.” inspector stamp. Included with the telescope is its original heavy-duty leather transport case featuring a ”BT&B Co H.W.P.” manufacturer stamp on the outer flap, alongside internal storage compartments and integrated leather eyepiece filters. The optical instrument presents in well-preserved, field-used condition; the brass elements show a deep patina with scattered light surface scratches, minimal verdigris, and minor paint loss on the black-coated tubes, while the internal glass optics appear intact and clear to the naked eye. The leather case displays honest wear, surface scuffing, age-appropriate fading, and softening of the straps, though the stitching remains structurally sound. H 18”, W 9”, D 10”.
