Antique Keuffel & Esser Brass Level - This early 20th-century brass surveyor's level by Keuffel & Esser Co. (New York, serial number 16601) represents classic American scientific instrumentation, complete with its original fitted wooden carrying box stenciled ”ENGER BROS.” on the lid and equipped with a leather strap. Crafted in solid brass, the instrument features an integrated spirit level tube, side thumbwheel adjustment, and a threaded mounting base for tripod attachment. The brass body exhibits expected age-appropriate oxidation, tarnish, and surface wear, while the glass vial remains intact; the fitted wooden storage case shows heavy exterior finish wear, scuffs, edge loss, and dry cracking along the leather strap, yet remains structurally sound with original internal wood mounts.
